How we approach commercial moves

Office moves are mostly a project management exercise. The physical moving is straightforward. The challenge is coordinating IT, informing clients, tracking equipment, and ensuring the business doesn’t lose a day of productivity.

That’s why every commercial move we do comes with a dedicated project manager from first site visit through to final delivery. They’re your single point of contact, they sign off the inventory, and they make sure nothing is missed.

What’s included

• Pre-move site surveys at both addresses
• Written project plan with timings, crew sizes, and critical path
• Dismantling and reassembly of all desks, workstations, and storage
• IT equipment handling — monitors, servers, phones, cables
• Packing and labelling with asset tracking
• Weekend or overnight execution to avoid business hours
• Disposal of unwanted furniture (where required)

Timing

Most commercial clients do the physical move on a Friday evening, Saturday, or overnight — so the new office is operational for Monday morning. Smaller offices (under 20 staff) can often be moved in a single evening.

Bigger moves (50+ staff, multi-floor, heavy storage) usually get phased over a weekend with teams working in relay.

When to book

Earlier is better. For smaller offices we typically need 3-6 weeks’ notice. For bigger moves, 2-3 months. The earliest stage is a site survey to understand the scope — contact us for that first, and we’ll build the plan from there.

Cost

Commercial moves are priced per project rather than per hour. Based on volume, crew size, timing requirements, and complexity. A typical small office (10-20 staff, single floor) lands around £1,500-£3,500 for a full weekend move including project management and disposal.
